Recently you may have seen press coverage, including on BBC One’s Watchdog programme, regarding vehicle manufactures no longer supplying new vehicles with a spare tyre. We are writing to you as this may affect your vehicle.
Instead of a spare tyre, the vehicle is supplied with an emergency puncture repair kit that requires you to spray glue into the punctured tyre. However, this temporary repair method is only suitable for punctures that are less than 4mm wide, and the adhesive has a sell by date.
The reason that this subject has been picked up by the press has been due to a number of drivers who have been left stranded after having had a puncture, the puncture repair kit not being suitable and therefore needing to use their recovery service to get them home.
Since the recent press coverage we have received many calls and letters from our customers asking if it is possible to purchase a spare tyre as an option, we have looked into this and I am pleased to say that a kit is now available from All Electric ŠKODA in Kings Heath, Birmingham.
We are now able to supply you with a spare wheel, tyre and fitting kit (which includes a car jack, wrench and wheel holder) from just £155 including VAT*. We would of course fit this into your ŠKODA free of charge and carry out a free visual health check for you whilst doing this.
If you would like to arrange a booking please contact our service department by making an enquiry.
